Omron also offers a complete line of blood pressure cuffs, should you need to replace the one that comes with each blood pressure monitor package. With exception of the manual inflation model, the HEM-432C, each Omron cuff automatically inflates with the touch of a button. Each cuff can typically be purchased online for around $30.

Each Omron blood pressure comes with IntelliSense technology. IntelliSense technology automatically inflates the cuff to the ideal level for each reading. In other words, IntelliSense technology is like having personalized inflation of the cuff every time. The result is accurate measurements each time.
When applying an Omron blood pressure cuff you want to be sure not wrap it too tight or too loose, since either condition will result in an inaccurate reading. To ensure that the cuff is applied properly, first remove any tight fitting clothing from your left arm. Once the cuff is around your arm, be sure that the bottom of the cuff is roughly one half inch above your elbow. With the cuff secured in place, you should be able to easily fit one finger between your arm and the cuff. This space is very important for an accurate reading.
Omron offers two types of inflation mechanisms for each cuff. The first is manual inflation which requires the user to manually squeeze an inflation bulb to inflate the cuff to the desired level. While this type of monitor is the most affordable, it may not be ideal for individuals who suffer from arthritis or other weakness in the hands. Omron has just one model (HEM-432C) with manual inflation.
The second and most popular type of inflation is automatic. These monitors inflate to the ideal level, each and every time, at the simple touch of a button (see IntelliSense technology above). For obvious reasons, this type of Omron blood pressure cuff provides greater convenience. Omron offers several automatic inflation blood pressure models.
